Discipleship

Our church provides two very distinct types of small groups.  We offer a variety of Bible Studies but we also offer very small discipleship encounters.  These discipleship groups are meant to only have 2-4 people in them and by their very design or meant to help individuals really go deep in their spiritual journey with Christ.  While the objective of a Bible study is to learn more about God’s word, the objective of discipleship is to help enable a person to pattern their entire life after Jesus Christ.  While bible study is a part of the discipleship process, the use of God’s word is not for mere education but to bring about life change.

Discipleship also involves a deep level of trust and accountability.  Each member is asked how they want to grow their faith and what questions should the group ask to make sure that what they hope to accomplish is happening (accountability).  Then each week the group meets those questions are asked as a way to give encouragement and strength in each other’s faith journey.
